Academic Year

The length of time being students at this university is not limited and may remain as an official student.

Every school year begins on the first of March until the end of February the following year. The school year is divided into two semesters as follows, with the seasonal semester being separately conducted.

  • First Semester March 1st to August 31st
  • Second Semester September 1st to the end of February of the following year
  • Seasonal Semester 5 weeks during summer break and 5 weeks during winter break

Language

Admissions are processed in Korean and all courses are taught in Korean as well. We do not have any language requirements, so you do not have to provide your scores of a Korean language proficiency test. However, it's important to speak and understand Korean at a certain level that will allow you to make the most of your classes, assignments, and exams.

Standard Korean learning curriculum of Nuri-Sejong Hakdang for studying all four aspects of Korean communication methods(speaking, listening, reading and writing). You can check your learning progress in this course.

The contents of lectures and text books for Korean & Korean Culture are offered by the King Sejong Institute Foundation’s Nuri-Sejong Hakdang(https://www.iksi.or.kr).

Classes

Each semester is a total of 15 weeks (including midterm and final exams).

  • Classes are available the same day every week at 12 a.m. (KST), midnight.
  • Each class has two weeks to attend and has up to 3 periods.
  • During the semester, students are required to watch a minimum 75% of each class video within two weeks after the video is posted.

Seasonal semester is a total of 5 weeks (including midterm and final exams).

  • New class videos are available everyday (15 weeks of regular semester’s classes are condensed into 5 weeks of the seasonal semester).
  • During the seasonal semester, daily attendance and participation in all classes are required.

No Proxy Attendance

  • In order to check the student’s participation, the general public certificate and fingerprint authentication must be used when entering the online classroom and examination room.
  • Attendance by the third person other than the registered student is strictly prohibited and students caught falsifying class attendance will be punished.
